Positions
Field Technician (Part-Time, 3 days/week)
Location: London, United Kingdom • Employment: 6-month contract • Start: Early to mid-April • Apply By: March 24th
The Tyre Collective is developing on-vehicle solutions to capture tyre wear at source – the 2nd-largest microplastic pollution in our oceans and a significant source of air pollution. Our patented technology uses electrostatics and airflow to attract particles as you drive, which can be recycled into new materials.
We are looking for a Field Technician to play a key role in maintaining and testing our tyre wear capture devices. You will be responsible for replacing and cleaning filters, running test drives, and ensuring our devices operate smoothly as part of a large-scale, real-world pilot with an industry partner. If you love driving, are hands-on, and enjoy being part of an innovative environmental initiative, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.
-
• Visit our partner’s depots in Hounslow and Surrey once a week to replace and collect the filters from our devices.
• Inspect and repair devices when needed (training provided)
• Return to our office (Somerset House) and garage (within M25) to clean filters
• Prepare and filter collected particles for lab testing
• When not servicing the devices, drive set test routes (~100 mi/day) to help improve the device
• Work closely with our Research and Engineering teams to optimise the cleaning process
• Follow structured procedures for maintenance and reporting (training provided)
• Maintain precise records of filter replacements, test drive logs, and issues encountered
