Impact on Urban Health Invests in The Tyre Collective
Exciting news! Impact on Urban Health is investing £100K into The Tyre Collective as part of our funding round. We have a shared mission to address the health effects of air pollution in our cities.
Tyre wear is a major source of particulate air pollution. Non-exhaust emissions, a combination of tyre, brake and road surface wear “constitute 60% and 73% (by mass), respectively, of primary PM2.5 and PM10 emissions from road transport, and will become more dominant in the future. To achieve further gains in PM2.5 and PM10 air quality in relation to road transport sources requires attention to reducing non-exhaust emissions, not solely a focus on lowering exhaust emissions.” (Air Quality Expert Group)

To achieve true zero emissions mobiltiy, there is a need to capture tyre wear. For more information, please visit The Tyre Collective’s and Impact on Urban Health’s websites.
Together, let’s save our air from tyre wear!
